Sunday morning’s ride was smooth as usual. The weather was pleasant with cool breezes. My biking friend, Parag Dhopte, joined me for a short trip to Morbe Dam. We discovered a new, tranquil spot offering an unobstructed view of the dam, featuring a small temple on the hilltop with hardly any visitors, which is ideal if you’re there early. We ended our ride with a tasty breakfast at Adhvika Hotel, where we enjoyed Poha and Misal Pao. On the return, we stopped at Belapur Fish Market, and I bought some squid. It’s been about a week, and I’ve started cooking squid again, this time making Squimaking Soup, which uses a variety of ingredients to make it flavorful and memorable.
Ingredients:
Squid- 500 gm
Prawns – a few
Tomatoes – 3
Onion – 1
Bay leaf – 1
Butter – 3 tbsp
Salt – to taste
Pepper – to taste
Method:
1 ) Wash, clean and cut squid into rings. Parboil prawns and set aside.
2 ) Blanch tomatoes and chop. Chop onion.
3 ) Heat the butter and fry the squid lightly. Add chopped onion and saute.
4 ) Add tomatoes, bay leaf, salt and pepper and add about 1 litre of water. Cover and simmer for half an hour. Serve hot garnished with prawns and herbs of your choice.
