It’s grilling season, so why not try a new recipe of Grilled Mutton Chops. Grilling doesn’t
necessarily pertain to making you think hard about the whole approach to the procedure. As W.Somerset Maugham quoted – A Writer need not devour a whole sheep in order to know what mutton tastes like, but he must at least eat a chop. Unless he gets his facts right, his imagination will lead him into all kinds of nonsense, and the facts he is most likely to get right are the facts of his own experience.
Give this recipe a try and rejoice in the fact that, you cooked a delicious chop and enjoyed it thoroughly. This recipe combines pan broiling the Mutton initially and later grilling it. This way, you don’t need to marinate the meat for long hours and the result is a juicy chop which has imbibed all the flavors.

Servings – 2 to 3
Ingredients :
Mutton chops – 6 pcs ( cut in whole – lengthwise)
Sesame Oil – 2 tbsp
Mix Herb seasoning – 1 tbsp
Vinegar – 1 tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – ½ tbsp
Salt – a pinch
Mint Leaves – 1 teaspoon ( dry ) In case dry leaves aren’t available, go for fresh ones and grind
them to paste & use it.
Mexican Seasoning – 1 tbsp ( in case it’s unavailable, use oregano, chilli powder, garlic paste
and paprika powder)
Clove powder – a pinch
Barbecue sauce – 2 tbsp
Instructions :
1 ) Wash and clean the mutton pieces and marinate with sesame oil, herb seasoning, vinegar,
ginger garlic paste, salt, dry mint leaves & set aside for 20 mins.
2 ) Heat some vegetable oil in a pan and broil the mutton chops for 10 minutes. Remove from
flame. Let it cool a bit.
3 ) Grease the grill tray with a bit of oil and set aside. Now add Mexican seasoning, clove
powder and barbeque sauce to the broiled mutton chops and marinate them thoroughly.
4 ) Place the chops on the grilling tray and grill on high level for 25 minutes making sure to turn
the chops every 5 mins. Once done, serve garnished with Onions, chillies and mint leaves. You
can also pair it with a sauce of your choice such as – Mint, Tabasco etc. The chops taste juicy
and do not necessarily need an accompaniment.
