During my time in Kolkata, while attending Catering College, I developed a natural fondness for fish, which turned into an obsession when I moved to Mumbai over twenty years ago. I enjoy both river fish and sea produce equally. This passion led me to create a delicious and easy recipe that only requires a few ingredients. I used Basa (also known as Swai or Bocourti) in this recipe, but you can use any fish fillets to create a delectable dish. The recipe takes less than 45 minutes to prepare and is high in protein, moderate in omega-3 fatty acids, and energy. It’s perfect for #gains!
Prep time – 20 mins
Cook time – 25 mins
Total time – 45 mins
Ingredients :
Basa ( fillets ) – 500 gms
Butter – 30 gms
Olive oil – 2 tbsp
Lime juice – 1 tbsp
Garlic flakes – 5 to 6
Crushed Black Pepper – 1 tbsp
Honey – 1 teaspoon
Salt – a pinch
Teriyaki Sauce – 4 tbsp
Fish stock – 20 ml
Mix herb seasoning – 1 tbsp
Mushrooms – 20 gms
Bell peppers – 20 gms
Carrots – 40 gm
Spring Onions – 30 gm
Broccoli – 30 gm
Instructions :
1 ) Wash, clean & cut the fish. Place the fish in a large bowl and add Olive Oil, lime juice,
chopped garlic, black pepper, honey, and salt. Marinate the fish and set aside.
2 ) Chop the veggies and set aside.
3 ) In a non-stick pan, heat butter. Add the veggies and stir fry for a couple of minutes. Now add the fish stock and bring it to a boil quickly. Reduce flame to sim and add the Teriyaki sauce and mix herb seasoning. Add a bit of salt and check on taste.
4 ) Add the fish and cook on a slow flame for approximately 20 mins. Make sure you keep
turning the sides for an even cook. Check for consistency and remove from the flame. Serve it with French fries or Fried Rice or as a dish in itself.
