Scrumptious Prawn Pulao and Raita Pairing for Culinary Adventure

Prawns Pulao

When it comes to Prawn Pulao, very few hotels or restaurants make it well. Most places don’t even have it on their menu. Instead, you’ll find Prawn Biryani, which is spicier and requires a different cooking method. But what if you’re in the mood for a lighter, easier-to-prepare Pulao? You don’t need to search through countless recipe books. Try my simple recipe for a delicious Prawn Pulao, and if you can find some Jumbo Prawns, it’ll be delightful. Follow this recipe, and your friends will want take-out from your place!

Prep Time – 30 minutes
Cook Time – 60 minutes
Total Time – 90 minutes
Servings – 4
Ingredients :
Prawns – 500 gm
Tomatoes – 115 gm
Curds – 55 gm
Onions – 100 gm
Coriander powder – 10 gm
Turmeric – ½ tsp
Cumin – 1 tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Chilli powder – 2 tsp
Salt – to taste
Fat – 50 gm
Coriander leaves – a few sprigs
For Rice –
Pulao Rice – 400 gm
Fat – 50 gm
Cloves / Cinnamon / Cardamom – 2 gm
Food colour – 2 drops
Method :
1 ) Shell prawns. Devein and wash well.
2 ) Heat fat, and fry sliced onions until golden brown.
3 ) Add cumin and finely chopped tomatoes.
4 ) Fry well. Add cleaned prawns and the rest of the spices, except the gram masala. Add salt.
5 ) Fry for another 10 minutes adding small amounts of curd at a time.
6 ) Add water ( small quantity ) and simmer till prawns are tender and thick gravy remains.
7 ) Sprinkle with garam masala and finely chopped coriander leaves.
Rice :
1 ) Prepare rice for fried rice. Add the food colour.
2 ) Put rice and prawn curry in layers.
3 ) Cover and seal the lid. Keep in the oven for about 30 minutes. Serve hot with Raita
