If I tell you that you can cook 3 starters in under 20 minutes, wouldn’t that be enticing? There’s so much you can do with paneer, especially when it comes to starters. You don’t need to restrict yourself to paneer tikka and paneer pakora. Let me share with you some yummy paneer starters that can spice up the menu for any party or come to the rescue for sudden hunger pangs. These recipes are easy to cook and get ready in under 20 minutes. Abundant in calcium and protein, these easy recipes are fun to cook and delightful to present on the table.
Paneer Lollipop – This is a spicy take on Paneer and can be an instant winner on any
table. Tastes best accompanied with a chilled drink.
Ingredients :
Paneer – 200 gms
Gram flour – 50 gms
Szechuan sauce – 2 tbsp
Oil ( to mix in batter )
Oil – to fry
Salt – to taste
Optional – Shashlik sticks
Instructions :
1 ) Prepare a smooth batter with Szechuan sauce, gram flour, oil, salt and water ( pouring
consistency)
2 ) Cut the Paneer lengthwise to finger-size bites. Dip the pieces into the batter and deep fry till nice
golden brown.
3 ) Skewer in Shashlik sticks and serve hot with Szechuan sauce.
Note – Use Salt sparingly since Szechuan sauce contains salt.
Paneer Coriander Chops – Another colourful Paneer dish cooked with abundant
coriander taste.
Ingredients :
Paneer – 200 gms
Coriander – 30 gms
Curd – ½ cup
Oil for marinate – 2 tbsp
Ginger paste – 1 tsp
Green chilli paste – 1 tbsp
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Rock salt – to taste
Optional – Shashlik sticks
Instructions :
1 ) Grind the Coriander and green chillies to a paste.
2 ) In a large bowl, make a marinate of all the above ingredients.
3 ) Cut the Paneer lengthwise to finger-size bites. Dip the pieces in marinade and set aside for
10 mins.
4 ) Grill in the oven for 10 minutes or until you get nice grill marks on the Paneer, making sure to
turn the pieces occasionally for even cooking. Remove and serve hot with Mint Chutney / Curd
& Red Chilli dip.
Note – You can use a waffle maker as well. Make sure to check frequently so that the Paneer
doesn’t burn.
Paneer Raseela Stick – A Sweet & Spicy take on Paneer which Kids shall love to gorge
on.
Ingredients :
Paneer – 200 gms
Ginger Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Curd – ½ Cup
Red Chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Tomato Ketchup – 2 tbsp
Oil / Butter – 2 tbsp
Salt – to taste
Optional – Shashlik sticks
1) In a large bowl, make a marinade of ginger garlic paste, curd, Red chilli powder, tomato
ketchup and butter/oil & salt.
2) Cut the Paneer lengthwise to finger-size bites. Dip in the marinade and set aside for 10
mins.
3) Grill in the oven for 10 minutes or until you get nice grill marks on the Paneer, making sure
to turn the pieces occasionally for even cooking. Remove and skewer in Shashlik sticks.
Serve hot with Mint Chutney Or Cucumber / Curd dip.
